SCHOOL PSYCHOLOGY, DEPARTMENT OF EDUCATIONAL PSYCHOLOGY UNIVERSITY OF HOUSTON—OPEN-RANK (TWO POSITIONS): The Department of Educational Psychology invites applications for two (ope-rank) tenure-track faculty positions for its expanding APA-accredited and NASP-approved Ph.D. program in school psychology. Although a fall 2012 starting date is anticipated, candidates who may be able to start in January 2012 are especially encouraged to apply. The University of Houston (UH), which was granted Carnegie tier-one Research status in January 2011, is also one of the most ethnically diverse comprehensive research universities in the United States. Although we anticipate that one of the positions will assume the role of Director of Training, those responsibilities may also be shared between the positions. Both positions will include: teaching graduate courses in assessment, intervention, or consultation, supervising doctoral research and practicum experiences, scholarly productivity appropriate for a tier-one Research University, and service to the program, college, university and the profession. Successful candidates will possess the doctorate, preferably from an APAaccredited school psychology program, and should be license-eligible as a psychologist in Texas. Experience as a school psychologist in a diverse K–12 setting is preferred. Mid-career to senior faculty will be expected to demonstrate a strong record of external funding to accompany strong scholarly teaching and service records. Untenured candidates will be expected to demonstrate strong scholarly potential, as well the potential to secure external funding. New graduates with scholarly potential also are encouraged to apply.
