Pintrich Outstanding Dissertation Award for a completed dissertation in the area of educational psychology. The award includes a $500 cash stipend, a plaque of recognition, an invitation to present the winner’s research at APA’s 2013 Annual Convention in Honolulu and up to $1,000 for the recipient’s travel and registration expenses for the convention. Applicants must be members, affiliates or student members of the division and have final doctoral committee approval between Jan. 1, 2010, and Dec. 31, 2011. Application information can be found on the APA Div. 15 website. Applications are due by Dec. 31. Div. 17 forms a group religious and spiritual issues Div. 17 (Society for Counseling Psychology) members are supporting the continuation of the division’s Special Interest Group on Religious and Spiritual Issues in Counseling Psychology. Members interested in this group met at APA’s 2011 Annual Convention in Washington, D.C., to discuss ways to encourage the interchange of ideas regarding religion and spirituality’s intersection with counseling psychology, among other topics. The group plans to have further discussions on advancing research and practice related to religious and spiritual issues in counseling psychology and across other divisions. Watch Div. 35 documentary on modern-day slavery APA’s Div. 35 (Society for the Psychology of Women) has created a 30-minute documentary to raise awareness of people affected by human trafficking. The film is also a useful tool for clinical training for practitioners who may work with people who are leaving trafficking. To watch the video, go to http:// vimeo.com/30360676 Community practice journal seeks contributions Div. 27 (Society for Community Research and Action) and members of other psychological associations from around the world have launched a new publication: The Global Journal of Community Psychology Practice. The journal seeks contributions from community practitioners in many fields, including community psychology, but also including community development, public health, community organizing and others. The journal’s primary language is English, although they can publish other languages as well. Articles are a mix of peer-reviewed (e.g., articles and tools) and non-peer-reviewed (e.g., submissions from section editors for videos, book reviews and interviews). The journal has published four issues so far, which can be viewed on its website at www. gjcpp.org/.
