THE FIRST EPISODE PSYCHOSIS PROGRAM: UT Southwestern Medical Center at Dallas Department of Psychiatry, is seeking an outstanding clinical investigator who will develop an independent research program conducting cognitive, neuroimaging or neurophysiological studies of individuals experiencing a first episode of psychosis. Academic rank is open and will be determined by the selected candidate’s qualifications. The existing first episode research program is designed to support studies of patients before treatment, and to then study effects of antipsychotic drugs on cognitive and neural system function in patients with psychotic disorders. FULL OR ASSOCIATE PROFESSOR: The Department of Psychology at The University of Texas at San Antonio invites applications for a full or associate professorship in military health psychology to begin fall 2012, pending budget approval. This position encompasses a program of health-related research that overlaps with interests in clinical, military, and/or community psychology. We are seeking a successful researcher who can help lead the implementation of our Ph.D. program in psychology that is expected to begin in fall 2012. The program emphasizes military health and takes advantage of the unique and rich military and health-related resources available in the San Antonio community. This includes collaborative opportunities with the San Antonio Military Health System, the University of Texas Health Sciences Center, the Warrior Resiliency program, the Strong Star program, and the Veterans administration. Responsibilities include: supervising the newly approved Ph.D. program in psychology, coordinating collaborative activities with health and military institutions that will participate in the delivery of the program, promoting extramural funding opportunities, and assisting with graduate-level instruction. Required qualifications are a Ph.D. in psychology or related field, a history of publications in high-impact scientific journals, a history of extramural funding, and relevant administrative experience. Preferred qualifications include: experience in leading a Ph.D. program in Psychology, a record of placing Psychology Ph.D. students in research and academic positions, experience in conducting military health research, and a research program that contributes to the training of Psychology Ph.D. students.
