Far West Skier's Guide 2011-2012 - (Page 5)

The Premiere Digital Edition of the Far West Skier’s Guide Was Well Received by Leigh Gieringer Editor - Far West Skier’s Guide Initially produced in 1988, the 2010-2011 Far West Skier’s Guide was the twenty-third annual, however, numerous requests had been made to also make the issue available over the internet. Thus, the 2010-2011 issue was also the premiere digital edition. The feedback has been extremely positive. The printed issue concentrates on winter enthusiasts belonging to clubs in the thirteen western states of Alaska, Arizona, California, Colorado, Hawaii, Idaho, Nevada, New Mexico, Oregon, South Dakota, Utah, Washington and Wyoming. The issue is also sent to a participating club in Missouri. However, the electronic version expands those borders expodentially as seen by the readership tracking. In addition to the western states served by the Far West Skier’s Guide, readers have viewed the site at: www.fwsa.org and/or www.nxtbook.com/nxtbooks/farwestskiersguide/2010-11/ from, but not limited to, Alabama, Arkansas, Connecticut, Florida, Georgia, Illinois, Indiana, Kansas, Massachusetts, Minnesota, Montana, New Jersey, New York, North Carolina, Ohio, Pennsylvania, Rhode Island, Tennessee, Texas, and Vermont., plus several Canadian provinces - both east and west. The publication has also been accessed in Europe, Africa, Asia, Australia and New Zealand. Therefore, we are definitely expanding our reach globally. The majority of views came from conventional computers, but other devices are also being used to access the publication such as the iPhone, iPad and Motorola’s DroidX. With e-publishing becoming more and more popular, we feel that the electronic version is an important extension to our communication outreach. It will allow tens of thousands of other snowsport enthusiasts to learn about the Far West Ski Association and its programs. In addition to the printed issue, the 2011-2012 Far West Skier’s Guide will also be available online. Be certain to check it out and include our advertisers and special digital edition sponsors in your travel plans.
