People Our people make the difference Success always starts with shared beliefs and a common commitment. That’s certainly true here. NMHS has 6,260 employees including 127 employed physicians. In 1994 our Board of Directors and senior leadership created a mission statement to guide our organization: To continuously improve the health of the people of our region. Our values statement–CARES–inspires every individual at NMHS. It’s based on input from physicians, employees and members of our community. Motivated Employees Mean Better Care In the most recent national Employee Opinion Survey, NMHS was rated in 18 categories. Among 475 hospitals that participated, NMHS scored in the 98th percentile for employee satisfaction. n l mp actio e f atis s 98% yee o Modern Healthcare magazine named NMHS one of “The 100 Best Places to Work in Healthcare.” NMHS was the only Mississippi organization and one of only a handful in the Mid-South to be selected.
