If either the bride or groom has been divorced or widowed, divorce decrees and/or the pertaining death certiﬁcate are necessary as well. Civil/legal ceremonies must also take place under the watch of two witnesses, each of whom must also provide a passport or valid state-issued photo ID. If the wedding couple is traveling alone, witnesses can be provided by their wedding planner. All documents must be faxed for review, then submitted via a courier like FedEx at least one month prior to the wedding date. Civil ceremonies take place mid-day on Wednesdays, Thursdays and Fridays; Saturday weddings are also available for a surcharge.
